Motion or event not detected

my nest doorbell has throughout the day many no event/motion detected and shows many periods during the day where it just goes blank is this normal is it not supposed to be a continous recording? I was barely able to get someone who was approaching my house, it only recorded them leaving and still didnt capture it as a motion, I only saw it while slowly reviewing footage and it showed them leaving but while they approached the door ir said motion or event not detected and was blank for a good portion. Also can we have a log of what devices are logged onto the app/camera and who turned off the camera please.

Hello, I do not understand all that you explain.

When you write that the camera goes blank, do you mean that it is not connected to the network, or that it is connected and isn't recording?

Are you using the Google Home app for viewing, where the events are not always recorded?

It just shows the time as a grey block and says no event recorded, using nest app, in the google home app it only shows the event recorded not the rest

It seems like a connection problem; you could probably correct this with a mesh router which would have a better wifi coverage.

Hi everyone,

@Jamastha, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, do you have an activity zone? Do you have a Nest Aware subscription? How far is your Nest Doorbell from your Wi-Fi router? Try restarting it by:

  • Disconnecting your Nest Doorbell from power by unplugging the power adaptor from the electrical socket.
  • Wait 10 seconds.
  • Plug the power adapter back into a socket. Your doorbell will restart.

You may also try double checking your seen events on your Nest app. Try turning off and on them and make sure that the Do no Disturb is disabled.

I appreciate the help, gilleslibre.

Regards,

Emerson
