Need to rotate doorbell camera image 90 degrees

Got my wife a new nest doorbell camera for Christmas. Had to install it horizontally due to log cabin siding. Image is great but needs to be rotated 90 degrees. People, vehicle, and animal recognition  will not work in horizontal mount.

I'm pretty sure there is no option for this.  It must be installed vertically.  Ridiculous, right?!? I would send it back if you are in the return window.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for posting here in the community. Let's go ahead and see what we can do here. Your Nest doorbell has a tall field of view, so installing it 4 ft (1.2 m) high can help it view people and packages. If there’s a wall blocking one side of the view, consider using the included wedge to angle your doorbell.

Try checking the event settings of your Nest doorbell through your Nest app or Google Home app. Make sure that people, vehicles and animals are enabled.

Keep us posted.

Regards,
Emerson

I like the doorbell and the image is great. I would like to know when they are going to fix the obvious flaw of not being able to rotate 90 degrees in either direction.

Hi J-N,

We don't have any news to share about rotating your doorbell video in the Google Home app, but we're always looking for ways to improve our services. Our team is working hard to deliver the best experience for our users — we'll take this as feedback. Keep an eye on the Google Nest Community page https://goo.gle/2JvnMRy for any updates. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this in 24 hours if I won't hear back from you again. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.

Check out this link on how to file feedback.

Best,

JT
