Heya, I have two 2nd gen Nest battery outdoor/indoor cams and I've noticed a massive battery drain first on one of them, then on second which seems to match the timeline of firmware updates on them.
Both cameras are always plugged-in, they both show they're always connected (infinite charging sign) but they cannot last a day on and will suddenly shut down with 0 battery left during the day (while remain plugged-in and "charging").
Has anyone else noticed any similar?

I've noticed as well that my battery based doorbell is now fully discharging and turning off whereas - not more than ~30 days ago it was not. I'm unable to keep it on for any meaningful amount of time during the day (it'll charge just enough to turn back on, then discharge within an hour or so and go back off).

That is quite odd, indeed. We've had a battery camera since Sept. 2021, plugged in with the optional power cable. It's been "Live" and online ever since, showing as "Plugged-in" with an infinity symbol, has never reported a low battery, and whenever we've unplugged it to check the battery level, has always been between 77% and 100%. Our firmware is at 1.73 1.73c 416403.
Unless there is a power outage or your camera is on a switched circuit that is being turned off, I don't think the battery should ever deplete if the camera is plugged in with the optional power cable and is therefore running on household current and not on battery power.

No, as I mentioned cameras stay plugged and powered. It is clear they now discharge quicker than charge under some conditions.
No idea whether this is a case of camera suddenly using (slighly?) more power with the new firmware or some start of google crusade against 3rd accessories (I'm using non-google 5m cables). Either way looks like a new thing introduced with 1.73

Perhaps it is your non-Google 5m cables/adapters. If the cameras are plugged in, they should be running on household current and not using the battery at all.
I don't know why the issue started now, or whether it's possible for Google Nest's firmware to detect a non-Google power adapter, or to start intentionally discriminate against it starting with the 1.73 1.73c 416403 firmware release.
We have a Google power cable, are on 1.73 1.73c 416403, and our camera's battery has never depleted since we installed it in Sept. 2021.
(I'm not a Google Nest apologist; the only reason we even have a battery camera is because Google Nest quit selling the wired Google Nest Outdoor Camera in Sept. 2021.)
