Nest 2nd gen wired doorbell notifications

I have a Nest 2nd gen wired doorbell and every time it sees a person I get TWO notifications...the first says "Unfamiliar Face seen" then 5 seconds later I get another that says "Person seen". They are not ringing the doorbell , just usually delivering a package or walking by. I used to have a Nest Hello first gen doorbell and this would never happen with the Nest app, I would just get one person notification (unless they bring the doorbell, that's a separate notification). It's very annoying and unnecessary to get 2 notifications every time someone walks  by the doorbell, when one would suffice. I cannot find anything indicating why it does this but it happens on ALL Home apps installed across multiple devices, so I know it's the Home app and not a particular device. Then if it sees 4 people in a span of an hour, by the time I look at my phone I have 8 notifications (from each person seen). I've already submitted feedback through the home app but just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

Hi Jako607,

Thanks for posting. I apologize for the inconvenience — let's get this sorted out.

The first notification that you received is a feature called Familiar face detection. This lets you teach the Nest cameras to recognize the faces of people that you know.

You can choose whether to turn this on or off. More information here.

I hope that helps.

Best,

Lance

Ok I get that because it doesn't recognize the person, it's telling me that it's seeing an unfamiliar face (hence the "Unfamiliar Face" message) but why is that immediately followed by a "Person Seen" notification? They're always back to back. One notification about the unfamiliar face would suffice.

Hello Jako607,

Thanks for getting back to me.

You’ll get 2 separate notifications whenever a person is detected if you have Familiar face detection enabled and People seen event is turned on.

Our team is working hard to deliver the best experience for our users — we'll take this as feedback. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this in 24 hours. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.
