I've been watching closely on how my DropCam and Nest Aware are missing motion detection events.
Today I saw it for myself, people walking directly in front of my camera, several times, and Nest Aware FAILED to capture the motion detection event.
This is shocking to me! Makes me wonder if I had been robbed what are the 'chances' of it being recorded. It should work EVERY TIME.
I'm on the $6 subscription, which means the entire event eventually gets 'blacked out' on the timeline, never to be seen again. I did capture screen shots of it before the software blacked out the timeline.
Is this a total failure of Nest Aware or is it a marketing ploy to force people to pay twice as much for the 24 hour recording?
Why can't anything work as described anymore???

I’ve been having the same issues with my outdoor/indoor battery cam. During the day I get most of the events, but after a certain time of the evening my notifications are not being sent and there’s no detection of the objects passing my two cameras! I have the 24/7 recording subscription! Plus this has been escalated to highest tech support and I have been dealing with multiple issues since December of last year!

I appreciate your response and I would be very interested in how tech support resolves your situation although after 3 months they may never.
I'm at a point to purchase more cameras, I had 2 Logi Circles fail so I've had the old DropCam out to check out Nest Aware. But seeing all this now it makes me pause buying more Nest cameras.
Have they given you any reasons why motion detection could be failing?

Well at this point, since I've seen Nest Aware continue to 'miss' capturing motion detection events since my original post, and since no one on here seems to have an answer as to how to correct the issue, or if the developers are even aware there are issues, this points me in a direction to not continue wasting time trying to find answers on this forum.
Does anyone know where one can go to get answers on Google software & devices?
Thanks.

Hi there,
I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I wanted to make sure that your concern was acknowledged. Do you still need help with this issue? I know that there's been a delay in response since you posted.
Best Regards,
Brad.

Of course I still need help with this issue because there is no answer posted. So tell me, how can I get the product that I purchased to perform as advertised?

It depends on which Nest Aware subscription you have, and whether you have the Dropcam HD or Dropcam Pro. Check out this article here which explains what you get with each sub, and each device. From the looks of it, I am not sure you get Basic Motion Detection with the Dropcam. Also, check out this other helpful article here for some additional information.
Best regards,
Brad.

I have a DropCAM PRO and the $6 Nest Aware subscription, and while the links you post have some good information, they do not show or explain why or how to fix motion detection when it clearly is inconsistent and misses motion detection events that are very similar if not the same type of motion detection events that it does capture.
I need to buy more cameras, probably 3 more. I'd like to stick with the same brand (Nest), but I'm on hold because of these unexplained motion detection inconsistencies.

This camera is not a new camera, it is one of our older cams. It will definitely not work the same in every sense, as our newer cams and doorbells have newer tech in them. All we can suggest you do is restart, factory reset if you have too, but it will not function the same way as a brand new cam.
Best regards,
Brad.

Yeah, please give me a little credit...
I'm fully aware the DropCAM PRO is not a new camera.
The issue is where did it show when I signed up for Nest Aware that I should expect the camera NOT to capture all motion detection.
The issue is in the subject that I chose to use for this post:
Nest Aware is NOT capturing motion detection events
Now with your statements, can you guarantee that when/if I buy NEWER cameras that they will not miss any motion detection?
