It really seems like the new Nest Cam (indoor/outdoor) Battery powered camera was rushed to production with little thought or care for how paying customers use these products.
I paid for 2 cameras, 2 anti theft/drop mounts, 2 power cables, and 1 Nest Aware Subscription. Seeing as the Nest Aware gives you the ability to record 24/7 it's baffling to me that specifically these cameras are excluded from exporting clips of that recording as I, the paying owner/subscriber see fit.
The AI is great honestly, it catches a lot, but it's not perfect. If something happens too quickly or the movement isn't dramatic enough the AI doesn't catch it as an "event". Hence where my issue is. I now can view and review over and over the thing I need a clip of for a legal proceeding but I cannot export it because it happens so quick the AI never catches it. My only option is to try to screen record the event and as you'd expect, I'm losing quality and important details.
This functionally needs to be added to the Home App, or these cameras need to be included in the Nest App. It's inexcusable for a company with the resources Google has to release a product and service in such an incomplete state.
