Nest Cam clicking every few minutes in night mode

Both Nest cams in my kids’ rooms are set to always stay in night vision, despite this, they both make clicking noises all day and night every few minutes. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, can you offer any fixes before I go a different route and get them a different brand of camera? The clicking sometimes wakes them up.

There are several other reports on clicking cameras in this forum, mostly associated with night vision. One was apparently resolved by turning off night vision, another by getting the camera replaced. The rest don't have a resolution posted:

Hey folks,

 

Amanda_in_Cali, I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. When did it start happening? Were there changes made with the setup, settings, and/or app of the Nest camera? Also, have you tried any troubleshooting steps to fix this? 

 

You can try restarting your Nest camera to see if that helps. Also, resetting it to default settings might do the trick. Learn more here.
