Nest Camera stopped recording evens and app does not show thumbnails of past events

I have an wired Gen 1 Nest doorbell and it stopped recording events suddenly. The last event it recorded was at 2:52am this morning and the preview thumbnails are not showing for past events. My Nest Aware subscription is active.

I have same issue. Problem started happening yesterday afternoon.

Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Doorbell (wired) has stopped recording events. I understand how inconvenient it is, especially with an active Nest Aware subscription. Help is here!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • What type of Nest Aware subscription do you have exactly?
  • When was the Nest Aware subscription renewed?
  • Is all of their history missing or just certain portions?
  • How far is the doorbell from the router?

In the meantime, let's check a few thips:

  • Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your Nest doorbell has a strong Wi-Fi signal.
  • Verify Account: Double-check that you're signed into the correct Google account.

When I check my Best Aware account, it just says it is a Nest Aware, not sure how to tell what type of account it is. 

It was renewed on Nov 30/24 and is set to renew on Nov 30/25.

History started missing May 7 at 2:52am. From then on, it only records when the door bell is rang.

The door bell is about 10ft from the router.

I am signed into the correct Google account and the door bells has a strong signal.

I have an active nest aware plus account. There are six cameras on the account. Two doorbell, cameras, two nest, IQ cameras, and two nest outdoor cameras. The only cameras showing the thumbnails and event clips are the nest outdoor cameras. All other cameras on my account Only show the event clips on my iPhone when I am using 5G or away from my house and away from my Wi-Fi. This started happening last week. Something changed Thursday afternoon. All the thumbnail and event clips disappeared for the cameras mentioned above. The two nest outdoor cameras are working normally.

  • Restart: A simple restart can sometimes resolve minor glitches. Refer to this article: Restart your Nest camera or doorbell. Depending on the model you have.
  • App Connection: Ensure the app is up-to-date.

Affected devices started working on their own with out any reset procedures.
