Nest Camera won't connect to new Wifi

We changes our internet service from Spectrum to AT&T Fiber, and thus got a new router and WiFi network. After this, of course my camera was offline. In all my research I found that I cannot simply change the WiFi password to the camera or home network...I needed to reset the camera and add it again. So I did, I pressed the button behind the camera for 10 seconds...it chimed. But now I cannot get it to connect to my new network. The iOS app Google Home goes thru the paces, and the camera even chimes when attempting to connect...but then it fails. 10 times thus far.

I read somewhere that I needed to reset WHILE STILL ON THE OLD WIFI network. Well, I didn't. Does that mean I have a brick now, or...what can I do? THANKS

Shane

I am having a very similar issue. Just went with AT&T Fiber. I got everything else in my house to work, including my Nest Thermostat, but can't get my 3 Nest outdoor camera's to work. I keep getting a message "wrong password" (error C119), but I look at it before entering and it is the correct password. I've taken one of the camera's inside to plug into my computer as directed in the troubleshooting, but got nowhere (the "installation process" didn't start automatically, and there was no "Home" icon to click on. So, I got no instructions from the computer to follow, as the app said I would. VERY FRUSTRATED!!

I was able to get it to work by using the slower version (2.4 GHz) rather than the 5G. I think that these older cameras can’t handle the increased speeds of Fiber, etc. They work just fine with the 2.4 GHz. I wish I had thought of changing the name and password of the 2.4 GHz band to the old names. Good idea. Sorry not to have posted earlier when I figured this out. It was a long and frustrating day. Things are great now. Thanks.

Hey Lewis2,

Woohoo! Glad to hear! Thanks for sharing with us the steps that fixed your camera connection issue  — it’s a big help.  As we got our resolution here, I'm going to mark this thread as resolved. Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. I have seen that changing the router connection information the same as the previous router, seems to work as a workaround. This would simply be changing the connection name, and password etc. of your new router, to the same information as your old router. Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,
Brad
