I have installed 3 Google Nest cameras and a Generation 2 Nest Doorbell. All are wired to get constant electricity and do not run off of their batteries. I have two additional unopened Google Nest cameras I am waiting to install in my shop (or I will return for a refund). The cameras stream to my Google Pixel 8 Pro, to my Google Nest Hub Display, to an Amazon Echo Show, to my Chromebooks, but will not stream to the television that has Google TV or to an ONN Streaming Box with Google TV. The cameras start to load when given assistant commands, but shows a screen with a camera under the "not" symbol. This is one of the reasons I bought everything from the Google ecosystem is because it is supposed to just work with everything else with minimal difficulty. It appears I should have went with everything Amazon because I am reading this has been a known issue for well over a year and nothing has been done.

Hello Casey,Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Customer Care Team.
I appreciate your kind clarification, my apologies for my misunderstanding.
Taking a look at the device that you have, I'm able to see that it uses the "Chromecast built-in" system (Same used on Smart TVs).
Just to let you know, that device is not considered a Google Nest device and it's not distributed by Google Store or made by Google.
Built-in systems don't have all the features that physical Chromecasts with Google TV have. For example, this built-in system is not compatible with Nest Cams or Doorbells (Battery) streaming. However, I understand that you have a wired doorbell that should be streaming without problems. Unfortunately, since this is not a Nest device, I'm not able to help you further or provide you troubleshooting about the device itself.
You can find the appropriate help for onn. devices at: onntvsupport.com
Let me also share with you the link to get Nest Chromecast with Google TV devices directly from Google Store for $29.99 (HD) and $49.99 (4K): Click here. All these devices are completely compatible with all Nest Cam and Doorbells.
Please let me know if you have any questions, stay safe!

At the end of this long thread starting Dec. 14, 2023, customer @Willarch1977 said on Feb. 25. 2024:
"I forgot to mention that Sirius XM admitted in January 2024 that the issue is with their app. EVer since it was relaunched in December, they've been having technical issues for. They never went through the troubleshooting process to ensure that Google nest and Amazon Alexa users would still be able to access Sirius XM."

What does Sirius XM have to do with my post?

My apologies! I meant to post that reply on a separate thread.

Hi Caseytripp,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand that your Nest camera is not connecting to Google TV. I'm here to help!
Here are some steps you can check:
Once you've completed these steps, try pairing your Nest camera with Google TV. You can find instructions on how to do this by visiting the Google Help article please visit Stream your Nest Camera video feed to a TV.
I hope this helps!

@maedacortez sadly, there must be some confusion. I am not asking about a Chromecast device, but about the Nest cameras not showing on the oNN streaming box with Google TV. I've taken care of each of those recommendations. I have went through the article you shared and still nothing. The cameras show fine on the Google Nest Hub and the Amazon Echo Show. It is sad that Google's Nest cameras show on Amazon devices, but not Google TV enabled devices. I am considering a Hisense television with Google TV built in, but if the cameras will not stream to it, then I will probably just get an Amazon Fire TV since it is more likely to work with Google Nest Cameras than a Google TV enabled television.
Are the Nest cameras supposed to stream on Google TV devices?
04-30-2024 01:56 PM
Hi Caseytripp,
Thanks for the information and details. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Based on your reply, to view your Nest cameras on the box, you'll need the Google Home app. Have you downloaded the Google Home app?
If you haven't downloaded it yet, I recommend installing the Google Home app on your ONN streaming box. Then, sign in with the same Google account you use for your Nest cameras. Once that's done, you should be able to see your cameras on your streaming box.
I will be waiting for your response.
Regards,
Manuel

Yes I have Google Home installed on my phone, wife's phone, and two Chromebooks. All my devices (smart switches, plugs, lights, and cameras) are recognized in Google Home. The oNN box is also recognized.
When trying to install Google Home on the oNN box it shows "Your device isn't compatible with this version."
05-01-2024 03:11 PM
Factory reset the oNN box. Deleted it from Google Home. Reinstalled from scratch. After setup still doesn't show Nest cameras. Same issue on the Hisense Television with Google TV.

Hi CaseyTripp,
Thanks for your reply. You mentioned that you see the message "Your device is not compatible with this version" regularly. This could mean that your device needs to be updated. I recommend checking if your ONN box is updated. If you're unsure how to update it, you can search for a video online that demonstrates the process.
I hope this helps!

Manuel

When I factory reset the device I downloaded all updates.

This is unbelievable, I spent a ton on 5 cameras and doorbell camera. Have two TV's with Google none of the new cameras display on TV, all software is up to date and cameras are fine on the app and Alexia devices but won't display on Google TV one of the tv's is brand new and updated. Looking at the thread searching for answers only to find over a year later Google hasn't devoted enough resources to resolving the issue and basically telling customers that emptied pocket to buy product... we are working on it... Good grief you guys are better than this! Please let me know if you ever resolve or if I should ebay this junk and go a different direction
05-09-2024 03:09 AM
Same here. I already have 3 cameras and 1 doorbell. I have an additional 2 cameras that I am waiting to install until I get some resolution here.

This is EXACTLY like Tim Cook's famous 'Buy your mom an iPhone' quip that caught the attention of the Justice Department. When asked why a common feature was disabled for everyone who doesn't have an iPhone Cook said this. Actually this is worse, because it is a feature that doesn't work on other products advertised as Google products.
Truly sad Google

Okay? Lemme try the remix? Google expects to own a slice of the Smart TV OS and Smart Home market? Yet? They can't certify OEM equipment (TV sets from Hisense or TCL and dongles/boxes like the new ONN Pro from Walmart) running all running their OWN operating system (Google TV) to work with their Smart Home (Nest Battery Cam and Nest Battery Doorbell Cam) devices? But yet? Amazon is fully capable of having every camera and skill that exists? Work flawlessly on Fire TV tablets, Echos Shows and Fire TV's? Has Google lost their freaking minds?! NO! You test! You test! You test! Over and over again! You do whatever you have to do before that said OEM products ships? To make sure your own products work with the OS shipped, before they ship! Or you get the heck out of the market entirely! I'm sitting here with a 55" Hisense and 55" TCL Hisense and 2 new ONN Pro's from Walmart and I cannot view one single feed on them from my Google Nest cameras! YOU FIX THIS GOOGLE! YOU FIX THIS, RIGHT NOW! I get a camera loading feed and then a gray broken camera icon! FIX THIS MESS! NOW!
How about a little less freaking GEMINI?
AND A LITTLE MORE MAKING SURE THE CRAP YOU HAVE SHIPPED ACTUALLY WORKS TOGETHER!
Steve jobs would fire you!

Just saw a YouTube video which shows the new Onn box streaming Wyze cameras once they are installed in the Google Home. So it is only Google's own Nest cameras that do not work with Google Chromecast Built-in, since other cameras seem to work.

Glad Lon Seidman is doing okay...and yes, I'm well aware that TP-Link cameras and Wyze cameras transcend the actual operating system manufacturer's own offerings. Sad day and that doesn't fix this mess! If a Google TV is shipped with Google's operating system? Then Google's own cameras and doorbells better **bleep** well work with it! This is like...shipping Google Cast display Mirroring but it only works with the Pixel phones and tablets to mirror your phone to the Google TV! What's the freaking point and who's running this company??? A bunch of woke interns?! (Don't answer that!) An even better question is...where the heck is the Google Home app (or home control dashboard) for Google TV???
06-11-2024 10:22 PM
Just installed a Wired Gen 2 Nest Doorbell. We currently have a Hisense INBUILT Google TV. When we try to stream the doorbell feed to the TV, it brings up a loading screen then the no camera symbol. Showing that the video is not being streamed. It would be really unfortunate if for whatever reason, the Google TV is not compatible...
06-14-2024 08:22 AM
Hi dash,
Thanks for reaching out! I understand that you need to stream your Doorbell on you Google TV, I apologize but this feature is not available to use on the Google TV the only way to stream your Doorbell on your TV Is connecting a Google Chromecast device on your TV once you connect the Google Chromecast you will able to stream your Doorbell camera.
If you have a Google Chromecast here you go to the link to stream on your TV, Visit stream your Nest camera follow the steps and you will be able to connect.
Let me know if you have more questions.
Regards,
Manuel
