Nest Cams (battery) along with 2nd gen Nest doorbell offline for weeks

I've got multiple Nest cams and doorbells, but as of 10 days ago, my 2 Nest Cams (battery) that are outside and the 2nd gen NEST doorbell have all been showing offline.  It's only those devices that are showing offline though; the rest of my Nest products (an outdoor Nest IQ cam, a 1st gen Nest doorbell that I'm using as a camera, and 2 Nest cams (wired)) are all working great.

I've restarted all three of the affected devices, but the two cameras' status lights end up doing the slow blinking white light, but don't ever switch to green.  The doorbell had a green status light both before and after restarting it, but the restart doesn't seem to have made a difference as I still can't see the video in the app.  For a router, I'm using a couple of Nest Wifi Pro units, and I've restarted the system a couple of times, but it hasn't made a difference.

All of the affected devices seem to be running the 1.67 OPENMASTER software, and from what I've been reading, it's that update that has caused the issues, but I don't see anything from Google to indicate that they're working on a fix, at least not officially.

Mine go offline constantly. Sometimes i can wake them up by plugging the power cable into them. Some people ive seen on this forum fixed there's with a reset but for some reason mine dont stay on either after a reset. No rhyme or reason though mine  just drop out sporadically.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting in our Community — I'm sorry to hear that your devices aren’t working. Let’s check it out.

To fix your Nest cameras and doorbell, please follow these steps:

  1. Save any video history on the device, if any. Follow this guide.
  2. Unmount the device, then connect it to the USB cable and power adapter, if applicable.
  3. Locate the reset pin on the device.
  4. Insert and hold the pin (you can use an unfolded paper clip or a thumbtack).
  5. At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
  6. At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the device starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
  7. Release the button. Your device will restore to its factory settings.
  8. After the factory reset, your device will appear as "Offline" in the app until you remove it. Also, the status light should be pulsing blue.
  9. To remove it from the app, open the Google Home app, select the device, and then tap Settings > Remove device > Confirm.
  10. Make sure the phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the selected network for the Nest device.
  11. Bluetooth should be enabled, but it should not be connected to any Bluetooth devices. Disconnect any Bluetooth devices paired to your phone, such as earbuds, smartwatches, etc.
  12. Cellular data should be turned off.
  13. If you have an iOS device, tap Settings > Privacy > Local Network and turn on Local Network Access for the Google Home app.
  14. Start adding the device back to the Google Home app.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,
Lance

Hello everyone,

I’m checking in to see if you still need any assistance. Have you had a chance to try the suggestion above? If so, how did it work out?
