Nest Doorbell Audio

Hi all,

New house with Nest Doorbell. I have the Nest App installed. Doorbell recognized.

When someone rings the door bell I am alerted by the Nest App and can see them in the Nest App as expected.

When I hit Talk in the Nest app, the Mic switches on in the Nest App and when I talk the person at the door can hear me perfectly.

However, if the person at the door talks in response the Nest app does not pick up their audio. I can see the person at the door talking to me in the Nest App but there is no audio.

If I turn the Mic OFF in the Nest App then I can hear them talking fine.

It appears that I can only hear incoming audio from the Nest Doorbell when the Nest App MIC is OFF.

When the Nest App MIC is ON then I cannot hear incoming audio from the Nest Doorbell.

Is this by design? If not then why is my Nest Doorbell behaving in this fashion?

Regards,
Laurence.

@lhookway

Perhaps this is what is going on:

"On some older cameras (Nest Cam Indoor, Nest Cam Outdoor) that use the Nest app, Talk and Listen works one way at a time. So you'll need to take turns talking and listening."
