Nest Doorbell Camera Rotate Image 90 Degrees

This has been posted here previously and had been a subject thread on Reddit, but still no status update for nearly a year on if this will be implemented.

The install, for me, is best at an 90 degree angle. It provides the most stability for the camera itself and the best compete viewing angle - so I don’t need an opinion on I should install it vertically.

With the sell off to ADT, will this customer request be honored or should I just return and go to Arlo or another brand. Probably should just return it all. SMH.

If I had to guess, I would say that it may not be technically easy or feasible, because it would require rotating the aspect ratio of the camera by 90 degrees, whereas rotating by 180 degrees "only" requires flipping the image.

You can only rotate Arlo cameras by 180 degrees, even though I see numerous posts going back to 2015 asking Arlo for a 90 degree rotation. It seems Ring and SimpliSafe cameras can also only be rotated 180 degrees.

IP security cameras made by SCW can be rotated 90 degrees, but they rotate the aspect ratio as well (https://www.getscw.com/support/faq/image-rotation). With Google Nest's activity zones, this would require the ability to switch the activity zones when the aspect ratio is switched.
