Nest Doorbell Cracking and peeling

Hello I'm reporting that my google nest hello doorbell started cracking and pilling about  two years ago. When I first bought this product, I was excited so I spent the extra  money. But to see, how this product has deteriorated makes me kind of upset. At first I thought it was a protective layer of plastic, but it's not. It does not make the front of the house look appealing at all. I keep reading that is a design flaw. I would like to know how google plans to make this right.
