I have a Nest Doorbell Wired Ver 2 and a Nest Mini and some Alexa devices. I can see the live feed on them and in the Home App on my android cell phone. The Home app records lots of events like cars and people and animals. All devices will make an announcement when the doorbell ring button is pushed but they do not notify us of any other sensor events. They are all on the same Google WIFI network and Home. I have also connected Amazon for the Alexa devices but it seems to be for permission to control and not report. I have spent 3 days trying everything since I have an IT background. There may be a permission switch somewhere that I cant find.

The reason is because the GOOGLE home app has to initiate the alert and it currently doesn't. They are EXTREMELY slow at adding features that should be obvious. They release something and then it is literally years before even the simplest improvements are made. To me it appears they are not interested in the camera line anymore. If it isn't a phone or a watch then they don't really care. Look at how many years have gone by and we have had not new cameras released. They are WAY behind on the camera hardware compared to other companies. When are they going to release 2k and 4k cameras? When will we see color night vision? When will we see a home base station so that we don't have to pay the yearly subscription fee which gets getting more and more every year. When are they going to start selling simple replace parts to the user base? When can we give other people VIEW only access to specific cameras? ... the list continues but I will stop there.

The only event that Google Nest cameras and doorbells report on Nest Minis, Nest Hubs, and Nest speakers are "Visitor announcements" (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451) when a doorbell button is pressed.

OK I understand but why don't my Alexa devices report motion?

We don't have any Alexa devices, so I don't know whether Google Nest cameras and doorbells are capable of sending motion notifications to Alexa devices. But if the only notifications they send to Nest Minis, Nest Hubs, and Nest speakers are "visitor announcements" for doorbell presses, why would they have the ability to send motion notifications to non-Google Nest devices?
I don't see any thing in the online Help for Google Nest on this.
