Nest Doorbell (wired) no notifications

Hi

nest doorbell was working perfectly when installed (yesterday).  We were receiving tons of notifications…movements, doorbell, recording activities. Now NOTHING! It went offline all of a sudden at 9pm last night. Came back around 8am all of a sudden but now doesn’t detect anything. Yes everything powered on and wired. There’s a green light and you can ring the doorbell no problem. Just no notifications on the Google home app. And when I verify recent activity it’s empty. But people have come in and out of the house. Please help!

Hi Erin9989,

Thanks for your post in the community. I understand how frustrating it must be that your Nest Doorbell isn't sending notifications, especially since it was working perfectly after installation, with everything powered on and wired. Even though it's back online, it's concerning that you're not seeing any recent activity in the Google Home app. No worries, help is here!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • What specific generation of Nest Doorbell do you have? Here’s a helpful article about how to identify your doorbell device.
  • How far is the doorbell from the router?
  • Have there been any changes to the Wi-Fi network?
  • Are Airplane or Do Not Disturb modes turned off?
  • Are there any Activity Zones set up for the doorbell?
  • Are there other family members who can access the doorbell? If so, do they receive any notifications?
  • Did you try using a different mobile device?

In the meantime, let's check the following:

  • Restart your phone: This can often resolve temporary software glitches.
  • Uninstall the app: If restarting your phone doesn't help, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app.
  • Internet connection: A strong and stable internet connection is crucial for the Google Home app to function properly.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany
