Nest Doorbell (wired) with internal battery gets no power when wired into doorbell

Hi, my Nest Doorbell is not getting power when wired into the doorbell system.  But If I uninstall the Nest Doorbell and charge the internal battery, the video works successfully on my wifi and displays on my Nest App.  I've charged the internal battery numerous times and then when I re-install it into the doorbell wiring (front door), I get nothing.  No ring around the chime, no video, no power.  Any thoughts?

Did you have a doorbell connected to the system wires previously? Is your transformer providing enough power? You need a transformer that is rated for 16-24 V AC, 10-40 VA to provide enough power to your doorbell.

Would 8VA/16V suffice with the global version of the battery doorbell? Only transformer really available here in the EU.

Hi David, I do not understand why the requirements are 16-24 V AC, 10-40 VA, and the power adapter google recommends is 18.5VAC 0.75A.  there is a huge difference between amperages. Any idea?
