Nest Gen 2 wired indoor cam, NO NOISE/SOUND detection..?

I can’t wrap my head around this and accept it. After digging through the settings and reading some posts online. I think I have to come to terms that these camera do NOT have a basic camera feature; noise detection.

We had the first Gen Nest indoor camera that could easily pick up our baby crying, that camera, unfortunately, got lost when we moved after having it since 2020. Now, when we bought the 2nd gen, we didn’t really think much of it, newer is better right? WRONG. Not only were we forced to switch to the Google home app (we made our peace with it), but looks like it also made us forsake a basic feature. Is this definitive? Do the Gen 2s really not have noise detection? We don’t really care for JUST smoke or monoxide alarm -whatever or glass breaking detection lol, give us ALL non-ambient noise alerts, this is ridiculous. Yes, we have nest aware plus btw.

We’d hate to return these cameras, as the microphone is really sensitive, it can hear a pin drop lol, oh well, if this is official, worst case scenario we can go eBay browsing for the 1st Gen but honestly this is baffling.

We have one 2nd gen battery camera and one 2nd gen indoor camera. Unfortunately, for the 2nd gen cameras and doorbells installed in the Google Home app (unlike for our 1st gen cameras and doorbells in the Google Nest app), the only "heard" events that can be detected are for carbon monoxide and smoke alarms.  It's one of numerous other Nest app features that are missing in the Google Home app (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234#zippy=%2Cnest-app-only-features).

I discovered that the hard way as well.  Because of that a number of other limitations on the GEN2 cams I returned the one I bought and purchased a few used GEN 1 cams.  I'm much happier with them and I like the NEST app features although they are slowly improving the Google Home app.  It has been 3+ years so I emphasize the word "SLOWLY".  😞
