Nest Hello Doorbell Face Peeling

HighSpeedDSL

Is there a fix or recall for this issue?  I too have bought into the whole Nest system (doorbell, cameras, thermostat) as this appeared to be a premium product based on price and initial appearance.  This should not be happening to a product designed to be outdoors.  Ours is even on a covered porch only seeing morning sun.

This does not give visitors a good impression of  Nest products.

@HighSpeedDSL

With your post, there are now 292 threads about "peeling" Google Nest Hello Doorbells in this forum and 33 threads about "delaminating" Google Nest Hello Doorbells. One of our Nest Hello doorbells--21 months old--is peeling. That Nest Hello and another one of ours also won't ring the internal chime anymore due to a failing internal battery (another defect with hundreds of posts here in this forum). It certainly seems both problems are clearly known defects. Yet in spite of all these reports Google Nest says they "cannot" replace them if they are more than one year old. "Cannot"?? It seems rather they will not do anything.

In previous posts, I have suggested that customers with Nest Hello doorbells that are peeling--or failing to chime due to a failing internal battery--be given a discount on a new, RE-DESIGNED Google Nest Hello Doorbell (NOT the new battery doorbell) that has a user-replaceable internal battery obtainable from Google Nest and that corrects the susceptibility to peeling. So far, no one from Google Nest has responded to this suggestion.

Hey HighSpeedDSL,

Oh no! Could you tell us when and where you purchasesd your Nest Hello? Also, are you in the same country where you bought it?

Appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Thanks,

Archie

Yes, I bought it from Home Depot  November 3, 2019, in Avon, Ohio.  I also live in Ohio.

Hey HighSpeedDSL,

Nest Hello only has a one year warranty. That said, we won't be able to proceed with its replacement. You can check this link for our replacement policy: https://bit.ly/2Peomtp We know that this isn't the answer you're looking for and we hope we can make it up to you in the future.

Thanks,

Archie
