I have a Nest Hello that's only a few years old that appears to be flaking/peeling on the front. It's in a spot that gets no sun (facing north on my house) and support did very little to help outside of "we request that you purchase a new one".
Does anyone have any possible solutions for this, or know if this peeling/flaking issue is more than just cosmetic? For a device that's as pricy as it is and meant to be outdoors 24/7, it's a little concerning that it would fail in this way after only a couple of years.
Thanks!

Unfortunately it looks like there are many users facing this issue and from what I can see the only users getting replacements are within the warranty period. That being said, one solution could be to use a silicone case to cover the doorbell. This won’t fix the peeling but will at least cover it and perhaps prevent it from getting worse.

That's quite unfortunate. A customer shouldn't have to jump through hoops to make a product that was meant to live outdoors survive. The changes Google has been making to the Nest ecosystem were already rubbing me the wrong way and this feels like an opportune time to dip out and move on.

Hey folks,
I am sorry to hear that your Nest Hello doorbell is peeling! I can imagine that must be very frustrating to deal with. Do you happen to know if your doorbell is still within warranty?
Also, as a reminder; please be respectful of everyone in these forums. I invite you to check out our Community Guidelines here. Please take a look and make sure that you are following the rules.

Hi Brad,
Thank you for the reply. It’s currently not under warranty as it’s 2-3 years old. But had I know that a $250 device that requires an ongoing subscription to get the most out of it was only going to last this long, I probably would have gone with a different product initially.

That is a valid opinion. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your experience. I wish there was more I could do, but unfortunately I do not even process the replacement myself anyway. You can try to contact Support if you wish to do so, but I would not be able to assist you further with a replacement request.
Best regards,
Brad

There are now 284 threads about "peeling" Google Nest Hello Doorbells in this forum and 28 threads about "delaminating" Google Nest Hello Doorbells. Google Nest should be doing more than just dismissing the reports. One of our Nest Hello doorbells--20 months old--is peeling. That Nest Hello and another one of ours also won't ring the internal chime anymore due to a failing internal battery (another defect with hundreds of posts here in this forum). It certainly seems both are clearly known defects. Yet in spite of all these reports Google Nest says they "cannot" replace them if they are more than one year old. "Cannot"?? It seems rather they will not do anything.
I have suggested that customers with Nest Hello doorbells that are peeling--or failing to chime due to a failing internal battery--be given a discount on a new, RE-DESIGNED Google Nest Hello Doorbell (NOT the new battery doorbell) that has a user-replaceable internal battery obtainable from Google Nest and that corrects the doorbell's susceptibility to peeling. They could sell more doorbells and address the problem. So far, no one from Google Nest has responded to this suggestion.

You sound like a complete jerk with what you said. Who are you to make such claims? Who are you even? I find what you have to say very disrespectful and rude. You need to learn some manners….why are you even here? What you said wasn’t helpful whatsoever, and all you did was **bleep** all over this thread. Go away until you learn how to be a decent human being.
