Nest Indoor Cameras

It isn't bad enough that you cannot get any help on-line, but even your Corporate office doesn't answer their calls. Customer Service is sorely lacking. The competition is looking better than ever.

All I want to know is where I return my existing cameras ((Nest Aware) for credit and how do I replace those cameras with your updated version. It's a very simple question that I do not have time to research going through threads of answers and questions on your so called "support" website. If I do not receive a direct reply from you then kiss my business goodbye.

@Rmcnamara27

I'm not sure what you mean by "my existing cameras (Nest Aware)". Nest Aware is Google Nest's subscription service and does not denote a type of camera.

Google Nest has offered to replace the old "Dropcam" cameras (up to 2 per customer):

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/An-update-for-our-Nest-Secure-Dropcam-and-Works-with-Nes...

As best as I can tell from other posts in this forum, the April 7, 2023 offer was sent via email to customers who had Dropcam cameras that were online and enrolled in a Nest Aware subscription a month before (March 8,2023).

If you want to talk to Support, you need to start with this link:

Correct. It's the (then updated) version of Dropcams. With all this terminology it's no wonder some people are confused. The rest you've summerized correctly. I will try the link you provided for support. Hopefully they will be able to make the turn in effortlessly. Thank you for replying. Nest provided immediate support. I'm just dissapointed that I can't pick up a phone and have a conversation with a person.

On second thoughts, the link you provided is one I found before, which ultimately points one back to the forums. This is not what I want from a company. I will seek other companies who have basically the same product but offer live help. Very dissapointed in Google.

@Rmcnamara27

When you go to the Support link, on the "Resources" page, do NOT click on any of the help links.  Just click on "Next step" to get to the page with contact options (chat or phone).

Thanks for the help again. After "playing" with the page, I was able to get more information. So if I understand the policy, support for the Dropcam and Dropcam Pro expire in April 2024. Hopefully this is correct.

Hey Rmcnamara27,

Thanks for posting here in the Community. I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you. Let me help you out. Actually, you are correct; all features will remain available until April 8, 2024, for both Dropcam and Dropcam Pro and will no longer work after that date, and you will no longer be able to use your Nest app to check status.

Let me know if you're able to contact someone from our Google Store support to get a replacement for your Dropcams.

@MplsCustomer, thanks for the help.

Best,

Edmond
