Nest Wifi Cameras disconnect on High Def, on low def no Issues

Hello,

I have a Nest Cam Indoor (next to the google wifi access point), a Nest doorbell near a google wifi access point, and a Nest outdoor cam .  The problem that has been happening for years is that if I make the video quality High Def, all three cameras constantly cut out with large gaps in the videos.  When I make all three cameras low quality, they stay on with no issues for weeks etc, it's not my wifi or router as I have gigabit internet with 36 mbps upload, and have 4 google wifi mesh router system.  Anyone else run into a similar situation? At this point I am just considering replacing them all as it's not high def video that I can access, only low def.

Hello,  I'm an end user like you.   I know a number of people that also have the Googel Mesh router have reported that doing this fixes a number of Nest Camera issues
Go to Google home app,

Wifi

Settings

Preferred activities

Uncheck both activities.

If that doesn't fix it then your best bet is to contact Google Support and speak with a Nest tech.  Here is the link to open a ticket and speak with someone about this.

If you get it working please come back here and let us know how you fixed it.  It could help the people with the same problem.

Same problem again, once I put the video on high def there are black gaps in the video… I have 4 google nest access points so that can’t be the issue. The google wifi is basic and doesn’t let you create a network for the band that you want just to test that out.  The weird part is that the video cuts out but it’s not like my network ever cuts out.  Like my streaming tv or when I’m working from home it doesn’t cut out.  The camera cutting out right next to the access point is just strange.  Maybe I just need to make sure each camera is connecting to the closest access point, but I think it does that by default.

Hmmmm,  wow,,, what a strange problem.   The only think I can think to do next is to use the link I sent and open a support ticket and speak with a google tech on the phone and see if they can figure it out.

I finally resolved the issue after all these years.  The issue was that on high def the camera cuts out constantly.  What I did was put the cameras on the guest wifi network, as I used to have an old router with the same network name as the new network name, don’t know if the cameras are having trouble thinking that it was trying to pick up the the old network name which is the same as the new network.   I did a reset of the cameras and it did nothing, unless the issue is interference on the main network.
