Nest app account registration

I’ve been trying to set up my Nest doorbell (wired). 
every time I open the nest app and I try to tap ‘sign in with Google’, I get redirected to a Safari browser that is stuck while loading. As such I’ve not been able to even register nor set up my doorbell.

is Google’s server down?

I'm pretty sure the servers are not down or this forum would be lighting up.  

i think what it is doing might be correct.  It is trying for Google's 2-factor authorization.  If you continue to Safari and log in then it might then return you to the Nest app.  It is just using Safari to authenticate you.

Let me know if that works.
