Nest app running hot and will crash if viewing video footage

Viewing the app on a iPhone 14 pro max viewing from the Nest app. Viewing camera footage app will run the phone very hot and will crash after a little. Anyone have this issue? Using iOS 16.2. Works fine with my Android Device though.

Hello JakeSpeed,

Thanks for posting here in the community. This is an unusual issue. Let's see what we can do here. To confirm, have you checked if there's any update on your Nest app? Have you tried reinstalling your Nest App or rebooting your iPhone?

Keep us posted.

This has happened to me 2 days ago while I accidentally left Nest app on and put my iPhone 14 pro in my jeans back pocket, it went burning hot. I immediately forced off Nest app, it cooled itself down. I am wondering this is a Nest crashing issue or iPhone problem?

Hi folks,

Oh no! It looks like your iPhone causes overheating because of the apps that are running simultaneously in the background. Try to close all the apps running in the background of your phone, reopen the Nest app then observe if it makes any changes.

I appreciate the help, Emerson.

Thanks,

JT

All app closed etc. If I restart the iPhone and start nest to view a cam it will over heat quickly. I just live with it now and just don’t use it much I’ll wait for an update. Fresh install latest iOS 16.2 tried about everything am sure others have this issue. It works fine on my iPad 6th gen no issues. Only the iPhone 14 Pro Max on 16.2
