Nest aware missing schedule option

jvescovi
Community Member

Just migrated to Nest aware to find out there is no option to schedule when camera turns on and off.

Wish I had known that before migrating since I only want camera on at night from 11:30 PM to 5:00 AM.

Guess I have to turn on every night when I go to bed and wake up to turn off when my wife gets up before me.

Will they ever consider putting that option back????

It has nothing to do with your Nest Aware subscription. It's because the new Google Nest cameras and doorbells released since the fall of 2021 work ONLY in the Google Home app, which lacks the scheduling capability of the Google Nest app. If you have any older Google Nest cameras or doorbells that work in the Google Nest app, they still have a Schedule option.

Google Nest's Vice President posted this back in Sept. 2021 on Google Nest's 2-app approach; there has been no update since:

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response, and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I'm terribly sorry to hear that you're having these troubles. I understand how upsetting this could be, but I'm happy to assist you with this obstacle. I am afraid that the Schedule feature isn't available at the moment in the Google Home App. It is a feature still in the Nest app. However, the newer 2021 Nest Doorbell (battery) and Nest Camera (battery) are not working with schedules at the moment. We are still looking into this concern at this time.

Best Regards,
Brad

Hi Brad,
The schedule feature is broken in the Nest app. I cannot toggle the schedule on or off and the schedule I have set does not show. I can see/edit it when logging on using a computer only.

@Brad

The "Schedule" feature is currently broken in the Google Nest app:

I had schedules set up in my Nest App that worked fine until today when the cameras did not turn on. I went into the app to check the schedule and it was gone. Now when I click on the schedule option I just get a blank page with no ability to set up a new schedule.

Came onto this forum with this very issue. Frustrating surprise as we fairly often have to deviate from the schedule. I hope it's just a glitch and not a long term change.

@Brad

There is no "Feedback" option in the Google Nest app; only in the Google Home app.

No, there is no such timeline. I do not have any time frame to provide, I'm afraid.
