I own and use 7 Nest cams. 6 of them work well.
The issue I have with 1 nest cam battery model is the audio from the microphone is inaudible. I am unable to converse with people using the camera. They can hear me when I talk, but I can't hear them. I have also checked the recorded video of the events and the audio from the microphone is inaudible there as well (but my voice can be heard speaking through the app). I am using the Google Home app on my S24 Ultra. I have also tested with another S24 Ultra and an S22 Ultra. I have toggled the microphone on/off. I have factory reset the camera and set it up again. Problem still persists.
What are my options for getting a functioning camera?

You could try contacting Support:
1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Sounds to me like the camera has malfunctioned. If it is less than a year old then Google will likely replace it at no charge. Other wise you are on your own. Maybe buy a used on from eBay to save some money.

I did not realise there is a 2 year warranty on these cameras (in Australia). Google sent out a replacement. The new camera works as intended.
