Nest cam detection issue

Camera is not detecting movement at night.

We've had a battery camera since Sept. 2021, plugged in with the optional power cable. It does quite poorly at detecting events at night, though--because it's plugged in and we have a Nest Aware Plus subscription--it does record the events; they just don't show up as events.

It does great otherwise. Just night detection needs a fix

  • Could you please confirm the model of your Nest camera?
  • Is your Nest cam wired or battery powered?
  • Is your Nest camera outdoor or indoor?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Did you receive any notifications in the past?
  • Do you have a Nest Aware subscription?
  • Were there any changes to the Wi-Fi network?
  • Do you use email or push notifications?
  • Are there other family members who can access the Nest camera? Do they receive any notifications?
  • Has the Nest camera been moved recently?
  • Are there any activity zones set up for the camera?
  • Are you using the Nest app or Google Home app to set up your camera?
  • Is your Nest camera firmware up to date?
  • What is the distance between your Nest cam and the router?
  • Is your Nest camera currently linked to a 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi network?
