I need to place a nest cam gen 2indoor in my mother's room at a nursing facility that is over 4 miles from my house. Before we get to deep in the weeds on this. It was suggested by the facility that I could do this and it would give my mother and me peace of mind.. I asked the administrative staff if I could dot this for a second time and they said yes. I need to connect an indoor nest cam in her room to my google home. Does any one have experience with this kind of set up? any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi JLcolo, I'm and end user like you and have been using the Nest cams for a long time. I know for sure that the older NEST app with the Gen 1 cameras did it by allowing you to create two different "home" locations which with it's own WIFI. But I'm not completely sure if that works with the newer GOOGLE HOME app.
User @David_K on this form offered how to do it. If you search on "One account 2 locations" in this forum it should come right up.
also, you can always open a support ticked and speak with an actual Google Nest Tech and ask them if this works in the Google Home app, Here is the link to open a support ticket...

If you get this working please return here and maybe give some details as i'm sure this will help other users.

You can create new locations in Google Home just Nest allowed you to do. The challenge you will run into is that a new Nest Aware Subscription will be needed for the new location. I tried adding my new battery and gen 1 cameras to the old location to avoid the need for the new subscription but it will not allow adding them if they are not on the same network.
