After canceling annual subscription to Nest Aware my camera will trigger an event in motion, but only records a snapshot - no video. Please don't tell me to check my wifi, that has been ruled out repeatedly. I need help with Nest or camera only

I'm just another Google Nest customer, but what you get for event history without a Nest Aware subscription depends on exactly which camera you have. Under "Free Tier" on the Google Nest Help page below, it says for the Nest Cam Indoor you get "3 hours of photo snapshots of activity." If you have the Nest Cam (wired) you get "Up to 3 hours of video event history." (Google's names for their cameras can be confusing.)

That was an excellent answer. It reaffirmed my thoughts that I should have 3 hours of video, which I don't.
Google or Nest removed the video when I canceled Aware.

Just to be clear, if you have the newer "Nest Cam (wired)" (https://store.google.com/product/nest_cam_indoor?hl=en-US) that was released starting in the fall of 2021 and you are getting snapshots only, then Google Nest is misrepresenting what the camera provides without a Nest Aware subscription. They say you get "Up to 3 hours of event video history" for that camera. (But if you have the older "Nest Cam Indoor" [(https://www.belk.com/p/google-nest-cam-indoor-smart-security-camera/############5811.html) the "Product" indicated in your post], which is no longer sold, then you get "3 hours of photo snapshots of activity".)
So, if you have the newer "Nest Cam (wired)" and are getting only snapshots, you could contact Google Nest Help and ask them to provide what they've promised.
