Nest cam schedule

I'm disappointed that there isn't any scheduling option for the new nest cams. My house has just been broken into overnight whilst I was sleeping and I bought these cameras thinking they would be pretty straightforward to setup with a routine to turn on at night even though there might be someone home but that isn't possible.

The camera on/off routines are only customizable with the inbuilt home and away routine and I can't even set up a time trigger for it.

As far as I can tell its been an ongoing issue from 2021 and nothing has been done to improve the functionality.

Does anyone know of a workaround to this?

Thank you

The way Google advertises Home/Away feature I think they need to be more clear it is situational.

I can imagine someone setting it up so that if their mobile phone is detected at home then camera turns off or event captured turned off. But then what if they're sleeping and they go to sleep some days earlier than others. Or even if they're not sleeping a home invasion from an intruder who won't care if someone is at home and awake.

What Google Home needs is an option to choose to not to send notifications when familiar face detected and choose whether or not it is captured in event history or not. Then no home/away routine required.

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response, and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how upsetting this may be, and I'm happy to assist you with this. The Nest app does have a schedule feature that you can use. The Google Home app however, does not have a schedule function at this time. We’re always looking for ways to improve, and appreciate your feedback. You can send it at any time using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback," or by following the steps found here

Best regards,
Brad
