Nest camera previews disappear again

On Android 12 and for most of my Google Nest experience, I have not been able to see the nest video on a dropdown notification.  Always have to open the app to see the video.  The previews suddenty reappered about 3 weeks ago and now have gone again.  Any ideas?

Hi dh4536,

 

Thanks for posting in our Community. Let’s get this sorted out. What type of Nest cameras do you have? Do you use the Google Home or Nest app? 

 

  1. Go to your phone's Settings > General > Date and Time.
  2. Tap Set Automatically > toggle it off, and then turn it back on.
  3. Make sure that the timezone, date, and time are correct.
  4. Next, go back to the phone's Settings > Apps > Nest or Google Home > Permissions.
  5. Confirm that the Google Home or Nest app has permission to use the phone's location and is set to Allow all the time.
  6. Check the Play Store for Google Home or Nest app updates.
  7. Check for any available Android OS updates.

If the issue persists, uninstall the Google Home or Nest app from the phone, restart the device, and then reinstall the app from the Play Store.

 

Let me know if that works.

Thanks Lance- tried all the steps that you suggested.  Still no luck with notifications showing a video preview.  Still have to go into the app to view the video.  In theory, you should also get a Android notification drop down preview...correct?
