I have three cameras.
I usually wait until a camera says three days left before I charge it.
It doesn't happen all the time but I'm getting "slow charging - use the correct cable and plug". It can happen with any of the cameras.
I've swapped cables/plugs tried different power outlets but it doesn't change anything.
I've read on other posts about it being a cable issue, but having three at least one of them should be ok?

Hi there,
I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I'm terribly sorry to hear that you're having this issue, I understand how upsetting this could be, but I'm happy to assist you with this issue. If you are running into difficulties with your Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell, I would suggest that you try to Factory Reset the camera if you haven't tried to restart it already.
Best Regards,
Brad

Hmmm. You're suggesting that this customer needs to do a Factory Reset on all three of their Google Nest Battery Cameras because they're getting a "use the correct cable and plug" error when trying to charge them?

Yes, I did ask the user to Factory Reset their device. It's part of our general troubleshooting steps. If you have any additional troubleshooting steps you'd like to add, please feel free.
Best regards,
Brad

I tried a restart as suggested before charging but got the same message (tried 3 different charging cables/blocks).
I have another camera due to be charged on Wednesday and I'll try a full reset

I can imagine this has been fairly frustrating to handle, thank you so much for your patience! Looking into this further, are you using the power cables that came with the cams?
Also, I know that how quickly a battery device will charge will also be dependent on multiple factors like the ambient temperature outside if the cams are outside, or vice versa. Is it very cold where you live? Please let me know and we can look into further troubleshooting.
Best regards,
Brad

Hi Brad,
yes I’m using the cord and power unit that came with the camera (I have three cameras, I’ve tried swapping around the cables and blocks in case one is faulty, the issue happens on all three cameras).
I’ve tried different wall sockets, but nothing changes (if I plug my pixel into any of the wall sockets it goes straight into fast charge).
the lowest outdoor temperature in the last two months is 10C

Thank you for answering my questions! Those temperatures aren't too cold for these devices, but it is possible some of your cams may be defective. I would suggest that you reach out to Support to see what troubleshooting can be done with them, and see what your options are.
Best regards,
Brad
