Nest camera wifi interference

Tl;Dr-- Is there any way to force nest cameras to use a specific wifi band/frequency?

We have nest wifi pro units (3x for our ~1900sqft house, hardwired backhaul, all spaced out about 30-40' from each other with multiple walls between each unit) and have run into a situation where our 5ghz is so strong, all our smart displays, nest cameras, etc. use it primarily instead of the 2.4ghz. We haven't had an issue with this until now. Our new JBL Bar 1300x apparently uses the same frequencies as the upper channels of the 5ghz spectrum for its connection to the wireless subwoofer and rear speakers, and we're getting some interference on it. Our nest cameras record 24/7 so I think the constant 5ghz usage by the cameras coupled with an inability to disable 5ghz or select a specific channel(s) on the nest wifi pros is causing this interference (it's sporadic with no apparent specific cause, so I guess it's when the nest wifi pros just happen to choose to use those same 5ghz channels for a bit). Is there a way on the nest cameras to force them to use 2.4ghz? Or hardwire them to ethernet maybe?

Hi Epb1243,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm so sorry to hear that the Nest Cam WiFi frequency is causing some interference with other devices in your home. No worries, I'm here to assist!

Currently, there's no option to manually force a Nest Cam to use just one WiFi frequency. Also, the Nest WiFi Pro is designed to provide the best connection to the devices connected to it, so there's no option for the Nest WiFi Pro to force a device to use just 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, or 6 GHz. The system automatically selects the best frequency for optimal performance.

Your comments, however, are valuable to us. Please feel free to share your wonderful ideas through our feedback form! This will help us make the changes and implement the features you need!

If you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!
