All Nest cameras and doorbells throughout my home suddenly stopped streaming video to TVs equipped with Chromecast. The video feeds are still available through the Nest and Home apps, but when trying to stream to Chromecast (as I have done for years), the message is, "Sorry! It looks like the stream is currently unavailable from [camera name]."

It is working on my Google TV for streaming the cameras in my "primary home". But since I have multiple homes setup on my account, the cameras in the other home are no longer streaming to my GoogleTV (this used to work before this recent outtage). Anyone know how to fix?

Question: if I purchase "Google TV Streamer" - will that once again allow me to successfully ask Google home mini speaker to "stream" name of cam - to smart TV - as before?

no.
it will be a still-frame picture with a 50/50 chance of audio running in the background 😞

I refuse to make any more purchases from Google. My gut tells me that's what they're trying to force us to do here. The next generation of equipment will also turn to crud so we can buy still more of their malfunctioning junk. Where does it end?

I hit the recommended button by mistake.. lol

yesterday
@David_K @GabrielaG whatever you superstars just did (7pm gmt) it's twice as broken now:
briefly we went back to @ToddL's OP of "stream is unavailable" across the board but now you somehow have minis (google and nest gen's) saying "sure" to GCCWGTV4K's but not actually doing anything
direct to mic on google streamers = broken again
mini to hub regular and hub max = still broken since OP
hub regular and hub max direct = never affected, still work. the only 2 of my 12 devices you haven't totally mangled with no clue about multicast groups and copy pasting whole swathes of code from displays to speakers (see 3rd party miracast servers id'ing nest mini gen2 *speaker* as a *display* ever since youtube overlays got hosed)
when willyou be breaking those so i can have some firetv and echo shows ready?

What an absolute disaster this ecosystem is. It is textbook en$#ittification, too absurdly accurate to be real. It can't be satirized, because there's no room for comedic exaggeration. It's a basically spoof of itself.

As of a few moments ago I can now successfully stream my local home cameras to my Google TV. When I tried to then stream one from our vacation home or my office, I get the following message:
CANNOT ACCESS CAMERA
THE CAMERA CANNOT BE ACCESSED ON THIS TV SINCE IT IS LINKED TO A DIFFERENT HOME. YOU CAN MANAGE WHICH HOME YOUR DEVICES ARE LINKED TO IN THE GOOGLE HOME APP.

I am having the exact same issue, anyone figure out the fix to this?

click through the home panel to get the still image up. whilst it's there say show me my cam on my hub and nope. go to the hub say show me the cam and yep
*this whole crapshoot of a duff ecosystem is 100% dead in the water*
