Nest doorbell battery rings on specific speaker

Hi,

I want that my new Nest Doorbell will ring in only single/few devices and not in all my 10+ nest speakers.

Any idea how and if it can be done without setting those devices on a different home?

Quick answer is you can't, without setting up seperate homes.  You can however lower the volume on speakers you don't want to ring ..if this helps.

There is anywhere we can request this (basic) feature?

I would assume google will see it here, we are all community members, and google does seem to be monitoring these comments.

Hey eerez,

Thanks for posting about the Hello announcements. Consider your post here a feature request but I also encourage you to share feedback via the Google Home app or by telling one of your devices to "share feedback" and record your message.

This is a request of mine as well. One doorbell press equals device cacophony in my house.🔊

I'm amazed I can't allocate different speakers and not all speakers to the bell. My kids don't want the doorbell alert going in their bedrooms....so far I'm pretty disappointed with this bell

There is a suggestion that you can set up a seperate "home" with certain speakers in that home, that will not be part of the main "home" and therefore would not ring, have you tried this?

This is not an actual solution.

It will do the trick but I don't want to create and maintain different homes for every new device and  change the current setup only because it's not supported by the software.

Or have you tried do not disturb on the speakers you want to not receive the bell notification?

Thanks. I believe the problem with separate homes is the nest aware subscription. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't each 'home' need a separate subscription?

I'll try the do not disturb suggestion

My suggestion for the second home would be to move the kids speakers into the new home, that way it would not be effected by nest aware.

Thank you,  that sounds like a good solution, I will try that. Thanks

It might also effect speakers groups if you have any

Hi there,

Wondering if you still needed assistance with this issue? Please let me know!

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad, thanks for checking. I haven't had time to set up the new "home" yet, but it's working OK at the moment, thanks for checking.

The way to accomplish this, is to turn off the notifications for the speakers you don't want to ring.

Hi @Marc,

Turning off the notification is supposed to work, but it will disable notifications (alarms, reminders and more) on all the other speakers.

I already did that and also requested it to be considered as "feature request" (via "share feedback")
