Nest doorbell chime connector question

I am replacing a Nest doorbell wired Gen 1 with a wired Gen 2 doorbell.  Can I continue to use the same chime connector that was installed for the Gen 1 doorbell, or do I need to replace it with the connector included with the Gen 2 doorbell?  I ask because the chime connector is rather difficult to access.

Never mind.  I installed the Nest Wired Doorbell Gen2 without swapping out the chime connector that was in use with the previous doorbell and everything is working fine.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. The chime connector allows the chime's wires to deliver constant power to the  Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) and Nest Doorbell (wired) and protects your chime from damage. In addition, without the chime connector, you might experience chime buzzing or unexpected chimes. The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) has higher power requirements than most doorbells. You need a transformer that is rated for 16-24 V AC, 10-40 VA to provide enough power to your doorbell. If you've already installed your doorbell and you see a blinking yellow light on the front, your doorbell isn't receiving enough power. The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) and Nest Doorbell (wired) must be installed with the chime connector included in the box.

Thank you for your reply, Emerson.  My original question was whether the original chime connector installed with the first gen wired doorbell would work with the second gen wired doorbell without replacing it.  As I said in my second post, the gen 2 wired doorbell is working fine with the original chime connector.  And I checked the voltage using a multimeter, and it reads 16-18v, so all is good.

I appreciate you getting back to us. It may work but we're not sure how long it will last without any problem. We would recommend you to use the chime that came with your Nest Doorbell (2nd gen wired) as it was created to be compatible with it.
