Nest doorbell infinite buzzing audio on app

My doorbell audio randomly started buzzing and now it won’t stop. Every recording, and live view has an overwhelming buzzing noise. I’ve reset it, power cycled it, and disabled/enabled the mic.

Yes please, it started without no apparent trigger.

Hey folks,

Restarting and factory resetting your Google Nest camera or doorbell will have different results:

Restart: Keeps all your settings, and it should reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever becomes frozen, has trouble reconnecting to the internet, or isn't working normally.

Factory reset: Erases all your settings and options, and restores its factory default settings. It will not automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi and you'll need to set it up again.

You can find this information, plus additional information on this process here. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Wait all of yours just started doing it too? Same here and it’s been up for months. It sounds like it’s being zapped by a bug zapper.

Hey folks.

Have you checked your Microphone settings in the app? I would make sure and check what it is set too and make adjustments. Also, please restart your device using the pin hole button on the back.

Best regards,

Brad.

Having same issue here. Been like it for a week. Could it be related to the cold weather?

I will give that a try Brad, thank you. I feel like it has something to do with the transformer it is hooked into though. I can hear a similar buzzing in the wall where that is installed. It's like the microphone is amplifying the sound. Does everyone else who is experiencing this have the wired version with a transformer? Anyone with a battery or plug in adapter having this issue? That would tell me quickly if it could be related.

Mine has just as mysteriously series making the noise. It is powered through the transformer. We did have a power outage that may have somehow corrected it.

@C2quar3d

Have you tried using a multimeter test to determine if it is some sort of power issue? I am no electrician, but we always suggest testing with a multimeter if there are power issues. In this case, the sound could be due to some sort of complication within the transformer.

Best regards,

Brad.

Well I fixed my doorbell fr buzzing. Just pop it off with a small pin like tool (actual pin, paper clip or better yet a SIM card removal tool) from the small hole on the silver plate. Then use that same tool and put the tool in the small hole at the top for five seconds. You'll see the device go off and then remove the tool. It will reset and buzzing will be gone. All you setting will be the same and you will not have to reconfigure the device.
