My doorbell camera (battery) is not restarting

Sorry for the issues you're having with your doorbell camera. That sounds frustrating and a bit confusing to deal with. Let's see what's going on here and what we can do to help.

I have some questions that should help us out.

  • When you say that the camera won't restart, are you meaning that you are unable to power it back on after it has powered off?
  • Are you able to confirm if the doorbell battery is charged?
  • Is the doorbell plugged into a power source currently?

If you can let me know a little more about the situation and what you have tried so far, I think we can get this working for you. I look forward to your response.

Hey Jeff,

I spoke to a Nest customer service tech a week ago and he went through the motions with me, guiding me through resetting, and powering up the doorbell. The issue is the battery within the doorbell was fried and required repair. I sent the doorbell back to Nest and they're sending me a replacement. There were no battery issues up to this point, so not sure where it came from. But thank you for being persistent. Appreciate that sir.

Thanks for the update! I'm sorry it had to go the route of replacement and you're needing to wait for that, but thankfully it will be resolved for you.
