I have a wired Doorbell 2nd generation . All seems to have been working well for a year then all of a sudden I cannot hear callers or hear video history. They can hear me but I cannot hear them or its very very faint.. I've reinstalled and checked all permissions and are fine...how can I turn up the volume, so I can hear them. Appreciate any help.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, Is the audio issue persistent or intermittent? Is the camera in a case or housing? Hold the mobile device near the camera and make sure both devices are connected to the same network. Then run a network speed test. What are the results of the test?

Follow the steps below to adjust your Nest Camera’s volume:

  1. Open the Home app .
  2. Tap your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings .
  4. Select Audio.
  5. Under “Camera volume,” drag the slider left or right to decrease or increase the volume of your Nest Camera.

Audio isn't saved with your Nest Camera’s recorded video, which means that any footage saved in your video history while audio recording was turned off doesn't have sound.

To turn audio recording on or off.

Google Home app

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings .
  4. Select Audio.
  5. Next to “Audio recording,” tap the switch to turn it on or off.

Best,

Emerson

Hi EmersonB, these steps have been done as mentioned before in this thread. These are your basic steps we all went through during this thread and when talking with tech team. Case number again is mentioned above. This is a software update that needs to be fixed from Google.

If you look at the Case numbers or on here we did those options and did not fix the issue with no sound during live video.

This would be the third time mentioning these same steps with no fix.

This is all cameras and doorbell cameras. Internet speed test are good/great connections.

I've been experiencing this same situation and they just continuously recommend the same steps which do NOT work lol. This has apparently been an issue since as far back as 2021. At this point, I'm probably just going to return the doorbell. I've been reading that it could possibly be a Bluetooth related issue. It's been speculated that it could be related to Samsung devices just having issues with the doorbell.

I've tested the doorbell on a Pixel phone which works as intended and on a Samsung S23 Ultra and the volume is extremely low.

Hello folks,

I know how important this is for you. We’ll take note of it and ensure that we'll learn from your experience as we continually improve our products and services. Rest assured that we'll take this as feedback and learn from this to deliver a better process and experience in the future.

Wait.. it was said this was being pushed up to the "right people" for a fix and they are aware of the issue.

We're not asking for just notes and feedback for the future. We're letting you know of this major issue as multiple people/customers are saying "we have no sound during live video." Please escalate this to a team who fixes these issues and not just takes notes.

Hey folks,

I’m sorry for the late response. Have anyone tried updating their Google Home app to 3.9 or their Nest app to 5.73 and see if they still have issues with their audio sound?

Thanks for the help, @Emerson,

Regards,
Edmond
