Nest -> Google Home App

Hey all,

Is it just me, or is the Google Home App terrible for Nest Cameras?  I used the Next Cams with the Nest app for my businesses, which was great.  It was easy to add a cam, to share, and setting up the subscription for video storage was a breeze.  Now that this has all changed to Google, it seems like a nightmare, but before I completely switch systems, I want to ensure I'm not missing something.   My biggest complaints are the following:

  • Can't use the Nest app with newer cameras, so if you want to add new ones, you must use Google Home App
  • Google Home App requires a personal Gmail account for sharing.  We use google for our work email, but it won't allow me to add those users.
  • Adding new cameras or re-adding cameras to Google Home is very clunky - esp if you lose the QR sticker for the camera.

Anyway, it would be great if I completely overlook some functionality as I prefer not to switch.  But if the limitations to the Google Home App are what I've experienced, then I will need to find a new system.

Help, please.
