Nest indoor wired cam factory reset won’t work

Trying to do initial set up of wired indoor nest cam. It keeps giving random (and different) errors. Have tried to factory reset, but it won’t even do that. Light flashes blue and then eventually turns yellow (not flashing) for a few seconds before returning to blue flashing. Have tried holding pin in reset button hole for longer, shorter, etc with no difference. When inserting push pin into factor reset hole there’s no sensation of a button being pressed - not sure if that matters. Anyway. Not sure what to do! Help! 

(we ordered this a year or two ago and never got to opening or installing it until now due to poor internet service in the boonies).
