Nest outdoor cams will not connect over LTE or 5G

My nest outdoor cameras with floodlights will no longer connect to my iPhone over LTE or 5G. However the Nest cam I have that connects to the nest app itself does connect in google home.

I have deleted and reinstalled the Home app, and I even deleted the app, backed up my phone and factory reset. It still will not work. However they do work from my daughter's phone via LTE and 5G.

I have some very expensive house decorations since I can't see my cameras from outside of my home when I'm not on Wifi.
How can this be resolved?
IPhone 14 ProMax with an up to date operating system and the Home app is up to date as well.

To clarify, my cameras are connected to wifi. I can't not access them via the home app when my phone is not on wifi but is on LTE or 5G. They either fail to load or they say they are not available. Not an issue if my phone is on wifi.

The first thing I would check is on your iPhone.  Go into SETTINGS then CELLULAR and scroll all the way down until you see the GOOGLE HOME app and make sure it is turned ON for cellular data.

It's turned on. I also toggle it off, restarted the phone and then turned it back on. It didn't help.

so I reset all settings on the phone. Still doesn’t resolve the issue. I installed the app on my 11 Pro Max and it has no issues. I’m using the 14 Pro Max with a dual E Sim. The 11 also has dual sims. I believe one of the two is a physical SIM though   All other video streaming apps work without any issue along with my other Camera apps. I’m using YI Home for my indoor cameras without issue

Hmmmm,  I think you are on  the right track with he dual sim issue.  If you search in this forum for DUAL SIM you will see a lot of hits come up that talk about incompatibility.   Maybe give those a look and see if you can confirm this is the issue.

I called Verizon today, and they updated my network settings for each esim. While it didn't resolve the issue, I did discover that if I'm on a call, the cameras will eventually load. So it definitely is an issue with the dual sim as during a call the second esim isn't accessible to the phone. I'm exceedingly frustrated that I can't use the four cameras in our back yard to view my home when I'm away from wifi.

I didn't invest nearly a thousand dollars in nest cams to only be able to use them when connected to wifi.

Did you search on "DUAL SIM" in this forum to see what other people are reporting?  I'm going to see if I can escalate this and get one more opinion on what might be going on.

So since both my sims are esims I shut off one, and the app works as it should on LTE and 5G. Google this is a programming issue that many users are having. What is your plan to fix it?

Hello RunAMuckeee,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and for sharing all the steps you’ve already tried to fix the issue.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with the Nest Cam with Floodlight. Don’t worry; help’s here.

Have you had any chance to contact our support team, as suggested by EmptyNester above? If yes, how was it?

Also, just to be sure we’re on the same page, when you mentioned that you did a factory reset, did you reset the iPhone or the Nest camera? If you haven’t done so yet, please save any video on the camera that you want to keep and reset the device to factory settings.

Keep me posted.

I appreciate your help, EmptyNester.

Best,

Lance

Hi RunAMuckeee,  Since this is just a user forum there is a good chance Google will not read this thread.   Now that you have such a clear description of the problem you can open a support tick at the website (below) or you can report it right in the app using the FEEDBACK option.

Here is the link:

PS:  I have never seen Google tell anyone if or even when something will be fixed.
