Nest says my doorbell is linked to a different account but I am the original user

I purchased a nest doorbell and hooked it up and it worked with my nest app.  Then I tried to integrate it with my google home devices and the nest app dropped the doorbell from its devices and now when I go to connect it to my nest app, it says the device has been previously linked and I'm screwed.

The Nest Google integration is the worst thing I have ever seen.  Why is this so difficult?

I called Nest support and spoke to a person who cleared up my problem.  My nest app was linked to a previous email address which I had changed in my attempt to integrate with my google home devices.  The support person, to whom I gave the serial number of my nest hello, was able to confirm that I had a different email address linked to it.  I changed the email address in my app and my nest hello popped up where it should have been.  Thank you, Nest support.
