Nest website problem on Safari

My safari browser Nestcam screen when logged in with Nest Account keeps refreshing the main screen that shows my 4 nest cams.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I am on 2019 Macbook Pro running Monterey 12.3.1

When you say it is refreshing the main screen how often is it doing this?   I looked at mine and it does a refresh about once every 5 seconds in order to update the camera images.  They don't show in realtime.

I'm on an iMac running 12.3 and Safari 15.4

My main screen is flashing each camera image and refreshing continuously with a Play symbol in the middle of each cam image. I tried reinstalling MacOS and that did not help. I am on Safari 15.4 as well. I am logged in with Nest rather than with Google. The play icon sometimes toggles to a pause icon... strange.

Hmmm,  for debugging purposes can you try to install Firefox or Chrome and see how they work?   I switched over and can't log in as Nest anymore.  Or maybe try it on another computer in your household?

Thank you for your reply.
Chrome works fine. Safari was not working.  The erratic update was fixed about 6pm , but ....
Background... I contacted Google & Apple and opened cases with each of them.
I sent Google & Apple both screen shots of the Web Inspector Control Panel errors & a short video of the erratic screen. It now seems to be partially fixed. The erratic updating to screen behaviour is now fixed  as of about 6pm however the 4 video feeds are still overlapping whereas Chrome loads fine. No one has claimed the fix to erratic yet.
Safari used to load the 4 screens fine as well. I have checked the zoom levels on Safari. No zoom levels fix the problem. Safari used to autosize the 4 windows like Chrome still does.

Hi there,

I appreciate the help @EmptyNester. Let's check on this further. A few questions:

  1. Are you using a work or personal computer?
  2. Is this happening to multiple computers?

Here are some steps we can try:

  1. Verify the computer’s date & time are correct and set automatically.
  2. Make sure the computer is running the latest version of the web browser.
  3. Clear the browsing data.
  4. Quit the browser entirely and relaunch it.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Try an alternate compatible device or computer, if available.
  7. Open the Chrome browser.
  8. Settings (top right corner- three dots).
  9. Scroll down to see advanced options.
  10. Site settings.
  11. Go to Cookies.
  12. Click on Add option under "Allow" and add the this link https://bit.ly/37lQ8uj
  13. After checking the browser settings, let's check some additional steps that might help.

    1. Login in to other browsers like Safari.
    3. Turn off the advanced protection on your Google Chrome browser.
    4. Check with the Incognito mode.
    5. Gather a screenshot.

Keep us posted.

Regards,

Steve

Hi folks,

It's me again. Just checking in to see if the troubleshooting steps shared helped. If you have other questions and concerns, feel free to let me know.

Best,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks for checking back.  I tried your steps earlier. I have done them and also reinstalled MacOS and a few more.  Google Chrome browser works as does browser on older MacBook on older OS.

Since then I have been connected by Apple Support to the Apple Engineers to had me provide video, screenshots and also a dump of the timeframe of the event.  I have also been in contact with Google Nest who are also helping. We are both currently waiting for Apple Engineers to report back.  I will provide an update when I get a reply.

Mac Safari 15.4. looks to have a known issue that is similar to my problem.  "Safari 15.4 in macOS Catalina running on an iMac (Late 2012 or 2013) with a NVIDIA GPU may experience multiple sites that fail to load or continuously refresh after loading. (88177392)"
I did a 10 second video if anyone interested to see the screen in action.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkKv1stIhKQ
