New Nest Wired Cam Not Streaming on Nest App

I recently swapped out my old Nest indoor cameras with the new wired nest cameras and they work fine on the Google home app, but they don’t show up on the Nest App. I use the Nest app a lot for streaming my home on my phone. How do I add the new cameras to my Nest app? I really need this feature

Hi @Austencious

Sadly at this time, Google has not announced any plans to have the new Google Nest Wired Cam to work on the Nest App.  I have heard that the Nest app features are going to eventually be added to the Home app in the future.

That’s so disappointing.  Thank you for your feedback.

Not only that but there is NO WAY to view the new cameras from your computer's browser.  They said they will be adding a way sometime in 2022.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad, thanks for your reply.  However, bring "an integrated experience speakers and displays" is far far far less important than having all the cameras work together in the NEST app.

Is there any way you can get the Folks at Google to allow the new cams to show up in the NEST app at least until the HOME app is (greatly) improved?   This would be a major step forward in keeping the customer base happy at this point.   Clearly many users are very upset.

I have the Nest Aware Plus subscription and I pay $120/year to have this subscription. I use an iPhone and I love the Nest App software experience. Rarely had any issues with it in the time I’ve had it. I like how you can seamlessly scroll through your history and again, I like how EVERYTHING is in one place.

The google home app is not intuitive at all, I have certain functions that I have to go back to the Nest App for, like adding a guest to my Nest Yale door lock. Most times when I view my front door camera from the google home app, it crashes the app. Never had that issue from the Nest App. I just have a tough time understanding the discontinuation of a perfectly working app. And to make matters work, you are integrating everything into an app with so much bug issues.

It’s all very disappointing and for the first time in years, I’m considering moving to the Apple HomeKit system.

You can try the Apple Homekit System but I didn't like it at all.  Also has many limitations compared to the NEST app.

Is there any plan to have them available to view on a computer instead of just the phone? I wish this information would have been on the camera website.

We're planning to return these cameras. After adding the new Nest cameras to our old nest system. It's become too annoying to open up the google home app just to check our 2 new cameras.
