@Connortaurus

These have a basic chime if not set to go through a hub or other device, but you will want to go through your display settings on your google home and make check out the chime settings. Check it out here.

Brad.

I'm having the same problem as Connortaurus (and others in past threads). It seems that Google in its vast wisdom and power has not figured out a way to allow the Home monitor to offer a chime or spoken announcement that someone has rung the doorbell. All it can do is send a notification to your phone.

That's utterly amazing that Google is that obtuse. It's a doorbell!! Make it chime inside with all the devices it's connected to!

Please don't reply telling me that that's right that all I can hope for from my Nest doorBELL is a phone notification. I want a response that lets me and others in my position when Google has figured out how to get the **bleep** thing to RING.

@Spatter66

Sorry to hear that you have been unhappy with the new ring options for the Nest Hello (battery). Because it is battery powered, having a physical chime sound coming from the device would affect the battery life. This method saves battery life, and as most of us keep our phones on us, it seems like a viable option for a chime to send a notification.

When a visitor presses your Nest Doorbell (battery), you can hear an audible alert if you have compatible smart speakers or displays, like Nest Audio or Nest Hub. If you choose the optional hard-wired installation, it will work with your existing doorbell chime. I apologize if this is not what you were looking for in a device like the Nest Hello (battery).

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.
