No sound on nest hello doorbell

For a while now I have not been able to get any sound coming in through my doorbell. No sound with live viewing or recordings. I am able to speak and it has outgoing sound. I've tried everything.

Is the "Microphone" option turned on under Settings for your Nest Hello doorbell?

Lol, yes. We have had it for a while and it stopped having sound about 6 months ago

Sorry; just thought I'd  ask the obvious.

Have you tried just powering your doorbell off for a minute by turning off its electrical circuit briefly? We've done that a couple of times over the years for other issues.

It's kind of a nuisance, but Google Nest's recommendation for almost any unexplained issue is to do a factory reset:
