Not receiving doorbell alerts

We have a Nest Hello doorbell that works great. My husband, who has an Android phone and tablet, has the primary Nest account t. Thus, I have to access everything through Google Home. I can see everything through the doorbell camera; however, I do not get alerts when someone comes to the door. Directions say to go to Settings > Google Home > Notifications and change preferences, but there is nothing listed under Notifications.

If you have a Google Nest Hello Doorbell (the wired Nest Hello, and NOT the newer Google Nest Doorbell [Battery], you still have to use the Google Nest app. I don't know why you said you have to access everything through the Google Home app; household members can access older Google Nest cameras and doorbells in the Google Nest app, using the same password they use for the Google Home app, and the same password under which they were invited into the household. You cannot change settings for the Google Nest Hello Doorbell--including notifications--in the Google Home app; you have to use the Google Nest app.  This works fine in our household with iPhones and an iPad.

Thank you! I couldn’t get into Nest earlier (it said the device was already assigned a user), probably because I didn’t have Home downloaded, so I presumed I could only go through Home. Now that I have Home set up, I can get into Nest just fine. I guess I just have to have both apps downloaded to get alerts and see.
