Notification delays >10 seconds

I'm extremely disappointed with my google doorbell purchase.

I bought the doorbell after constantly missing deliveries and thought this would solve my problems.

It doesn't, in fact now things are worse  It takes 10+ seconds from when someone clicks the doorbell to when my phones or hub or nest mini devices receive notification someone is there. By then, the delivery driver or person waiting to see me is gone.

Is there an issue with my doorbell or is this just the terrible experience people should come to expect if they pay $300 your doorbells?

I have exactly the same issue - it's driving me crazy.
I know it's not the internet speed as I have 100mb download speeds...

Seems that the RING doorbels react alot quicker from point of the door bell being pressed - I might change to them.

Mine now also has the plastic front peeling off! Not what I expect from a brand such as google.

Same problem here… is the problem already fixed? On my iPhone and Apple Watch the message shows within seconds. On my hub and other google speakers it sometimes take more than half a minute. Terrible when I’m not at home and someone is watching my house

See mine is the other way around, it is pretty instant to my hub and speakers in the home but takes artound 30-40 seconds to come to my phone and watch if i'm away from the house.

Hey folks,

Restarting and factory resetting your Google Nest camera or doorbell will have different results:

Restart: Keeps all your settings, and it should reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever becomes frozen, has trouble reconnecting to the internet, or isn't working normally.

Factory reset: Erases all your settings and options, and restores its factory default settings. It will not automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi and you'll need to set it up again.

You can find this information, plus additional information on this process here. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Best Regards,

Brad.

I replaced my doorbell and hub for new ones. I made a new network. I made a new google home account. So I installed everything like it was a new system. Still same problem. Sometimes it works fine and some times it takes seconds (30sec) to get a message. It is not a WiFi problem because I’ve tested my signal Al around. Hope you have a solution.

This is a known issue. I am afraid it's a bug that has been around. I do not have any suggestions besides what we have suggested thus far. If your device is still under warranty, then I would suggest that you reach out to Support.

Best regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad thnx for the reply.

like I already said I’ve swapped both the doorbell and hub already. Still te problem is there. Now you’re telling me it is a bug? A bug in what..? My WiFi, my doorbell, my hub, my account? I’ve try’d everything. Is it possible to arrange someone who can take a look at it at my place? I’ve bought a complete system for around 1000 euros and it won’t work because of a bug????

hope you  can help me out

Yes, bugs can keep devices from working. This notification delay is a bug. I do not have a solution as its still being looked into.

Best regards,

Brad.

Just as you guys I am having the same problem. Have seen numerous deliveries get taken back, just because it takes up to 2 minutes before I receive a notification on either Home mini or my mobile phone.

Hi Jeran,

Can you please read the other comments and give me a solution for the problem…. A bug I can not accept. A company as big as google telling me there system isn’t working because of a bug?

Definitely a hub. All companies have them, it happens, we'll update y'all when we have an update on the bug itself.

Best regards,

Brad
