It depends on which cameras you have. The older Google Nest Outdoor Cameras, which are installed in the Google Nest app and have not been sold since Sept. 2021, do not have batteries and therefore cannot work when the power goes out. The newer Google Nest Battery Cameras, which are installed in the Google Home app and have been available since Sept. 2021, of course have batteries, as the name says. If they are plugged in with the optional power cable, then they will function when the power goes out, and the batteries should remain charged. (We have had a battery camera for almost 22 months, plugged in with the optional power cable; it is "Live" and online all the time and the battery remains charged.) If the battery camera is NOT plugged in, then the camera needs to be dismounted and the battery charged whenever the battery gets low.
